She uses both ethnographic and archival research methods to critically analyze the material performances of photographs, albums, catalogues, magazines, etc. that allow cultural intermediaries (influencers, designers, editors, retailers, curators etc.) to produce fashion narratives across time, space, and place. Throughout her academic career, she has communicated her research findings in numerous ways including written publications, conference presentations, and curated exhibitions. Her work has been recognized and supported through awards, grants, and fellowships from The Association of Dress Historians, International Textile and Apparel Association, and Costume Society of America.
